All games, Association and Golf, to be played by the dates shown on each draw.
In block competitions, please enter the actual score, not "+the score difference".
For all Association Croquet knockout competitions please record if game was decided on time. Put score +"T".

 

The All England Handicap

This is not a Club competition but a national one run by the Croquet Association. It is a 26 point, handicap game played as a knockout. The number of Club members to go forward to represent the Club in the next round against other Clubs in the South East Federation depends on how many entries we have, but is usually two. Time limit 3.5 hours.

Bush Cup
Holder Mark Hamilton

This is a handicap, knockout tournament for players with handicaps of 18 or over. The games are played as full bisque to a base of 8 so that both players receive bisques. Therefore both sides receive bisques and the game is limited to 18 points. Remember, both players' handicaps need to be individually adjusted to take account of the 18 point game in accordance with the table below. On scoring hoop 1 the second ball's clip is placed on hoop 3 back. If unclear please ask. Time limit 3.5 hours.
Note 1. These games are to be counted as 10 index points on handicap cards.
Note 2. Bisque allocation for each player is as follows:

Daldy Cup

A singles, knockout, handicap competition for players with handicaps of 9 to 16. This is a 26 point game. Time limit 3.5 hours.

D'Esterre Bowl

A singles, knockout, level competition for players with handicaps of 4 to 10. This is a 26 point game played to normal advanced rules. Time limit 3.5 hours.

Franc Cup

The ladies', handicap, American competition limited to players with handicaps of 16 and below. Each game will be 26 point.Winner of block A to play winner of block B in the final. Time limit 3.5 hours.

The Freddy Reynold Cup
Holder Roger Beijderwellen

This is a one-ball handicap game, open to all handicaps, and played as the best of three games, each consisting of twelve hoops and the peg. It is a knockout competition with no time limits.
Use the Southwick allowances for working out bisques - take the difference in Association handicaps and apply the following formula:
Handicap difference: 0-1.5, 2-5.5, 6-10.5, 11-15.5, 16-20, over 20
Bisque allowance: 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5

Fryer Cup
Holder Steve Knight

The men's, handicap, American competition, limited to players with handicaps of 16 and below. Each game will be 26 points. Winner of block A to play the winner of block B in one semi-final, and the winner of block C to play the winner of block D in the other semi-final. The winners of each semi-final to play in the final.Time limit 3.5 hours.

Hazel Parker Salver
Holder Mark Hamilton

American, handicap competition for beginners. It is limited to players of handicap 18 and above. Each game to be 14 points and played as full bisque to a base of 6 so that both players receive the appropriate number of bisques, having taken account of the reduced game. See the table below for the number of bisques for each player. The winner of block A will play the winner of block B in the final. Time limit 3.5 hours.
Note 1: These games are to be counted as 10 index points on handicap cards.
Note 2: Bisque allocation for each player is as follows:

The Millennium Trophy
Holder Rutger Beijderwellen

This is a singles, 14 point, advanced rules knockout competition open to handicaps of 12 and below. All rounds will be the best of three games. Remember, 14 point games are now counted on your handicap card (5 point maximum depending on the handicaps of the two players). Time limits are 1.5, 1.5 and 1.0 hours respectively.

Moore Cup
Holder Rutger Beijderwellen

Knockout, with the best of three games for each round. It is level play (no handicap) and is played to Advanced rules. Although no handicap restrictions are given it is intended for players with handicaps of 6 and below.No time limit is set for the best of three games.

New Challenge Cup

This knockout competition is designed to give players a taste for advanced play with lifts and contacts but with the advantage of a few bisques. Bisques can only be taken on a breakdown and not used to get in. This is a 26 point game for handicaps of 6 to 12. This game does not count on handicap cards. Time limit 3.5 hours.

Shine Salvers
Holders Gene Mears & Pam Gooders

This is an 18 point, handicap, doubles competition open to all. First rounds in American blocks with play-offs for the final. For this competition a player may play off a maximum of 20 handicap but with the proviso that the total handicap of a pair may not exceed 34. Winners of block A to play winners of block B for a place in the final. Similarly for blocks C and D. Time limit 3.5 hours.

Sussex Gold Cup

This is the main Club handicap competition and is open to all Members with an Association handicap. It is a 26 point game. Time limit 3.5 hours.

This competition is played level, as a knockout, and will run during the season. All rounds will be the best of three 13 point games. No time limit

Golf Handicap Singles

A handicap competition played in blocks, running throughout the season. A single game of 13 points, except for the final which will be the best of three 13 point games.
